Her Boyfriend’s Back!

June 13, 2008

Here’s a quick word map of my thoughts as I read the final chapter in Part II

Paragraph 1: Lucia Di Lammermoor–foreshadowing alert! (Okay I really don’t what this opera is about, but every picture I saw in recent reviews for it showed a lady covered in blood…tragic overtones)

Paragraphs 11-13: Loving Charles’s confusion at the opera…I have tried to defend him time and again but at this point I’m just giving up…Charles is not a bright man.

Paragraph 15: “‘But I like to understand what’s going on; you know that”–Oh Charles. Charles, Charles, Charles.

Paragraph 20: Leon’s back! Is it getting hot in here?? (It was…I was in a coffee shop and a gust of hot air from the espresso machine wafted into my face)

Paragraph 28: I bet all of the people in this coffee shop are thinking “Look at that guy…he’s reading Madame Bovary! He must be smart and kind and funny.” I am all of those things!

Paragraph 40: I can’t believe Liz got “executed” on The Mole

Paragraph 46: “Yes we have no bananas! We have no bananas today!”

Paragraph 47: I could go for a banana

Paragraph 49: Charles wants her to what?

There you have it…it’s as if you were sitting in my medulla oblangata (I don’t really know how spell the different parts of the brain) as I read this afternoon. I hope you enjoyed this field trip.

Remember twin I’m expecting your pick for our next book tomorrow. And we’re going to have finished Bovary by the time I leave for Espanaganza 2008 next week.

You’ve got some homework!
