So twin, rest assured, I took your advice and took a day of rest from Tristram’s Travails (to continue my travel metaphor the Shandy Express got derailed). Yesterday was completely Tristram-free.
I hope you took advantage to catch up because everything’s back to good as of this morning! (Choo-choo!). And book seven is in the books.
I won’t go into details–partly because I don’t want to ruin the book’s many surprises (and by many I mean none) and partly because all that happens is kind of boring. I do look forward to see if your relative knowledge of travelogues of the period makes the reading more of a gut-buster (or rib tickler) than it did for me in my ignorance.
But I was thinking as I walked to work this morning…if Papa Shandy, Toby, Trim and Slop were the ladies of Sex and the City, which would they be. I’m thinking P.S. as Carrie, definitely Toby as Charlotte. Slop as Samantha which leaves Trim as Miranda.
Which got me to further thinking…by the transitive property of TV, taking as a given that SATC = The Golden Girls would that make Papa Shandy: Dorothy, Toby: Rose, Slop: Blanche, and Trim: Sofia?
I need to do two things…
1.) Finish this book as it is painfully evident I have nothing more worthwhile to say on the topic.
2.) Stop abusing the transitive property of mathematics.
