Stop!

April 23, 2008

Stop! Stop, reading!

I am falling behind. I started Volume 6, but then I had the opportunity to partake in a more exciting activity…it seems I came across a wall with wet paint, and I could actually watch it dry. So, while I made it through the epic Le Fever story I did not make it much further.

It’s funny that you should mention everybody’s favorite Saved by the Bell brainiac, Jessie Spano. I was just thinking about all of the parallels between you and Ms. Spano. What with your mutual intelligence, geek-chic sense of style, and summers spent at dance camp, it seems you two were definitely cut from the same cloth.

Volume 6 did have one of the great lines of T. Shandy so far:

“But you forget the great Lipsius, quoth Yorick, who composed a work the day he was born;–They should have wiped it up, said my uncle Toby, and said no more about it.” (pg. 371)

I don’t know if that’s funny out of context, but I am still laughing as I type.

On the topic of How I Met Your Mother:

I too, always enjoy an appearance by Robin Sparkles. I’ve been humming “Sandcastles in the Sand”–which by the way is perhaps one of the funniest fake song titles I’ve ever heard–all day. Last night was a particularly fine episode.

Okay, now back to the book.
